although i do agree that a crestron system does help with “going green”, it has to be done correctly. largely it has to be programmed in such a way that will conserve the amount of power used for everything that the system controls.

for example, there are many lazy programmers out there that will just leave a cable box, or media server on ALL THE TIME, because it’s easier than to worry about powering it on or off. many factors need to be considered in order for a system to be fully efficient.

basically, there is a clear distinction between a simply automated home and a truly smart home.
